Police Investigate 'Obscene Sexual Display' on South Arlington Mill Drive

Investigators are looking for a blue Toyota minivan with Maryland plates.

A heavyset man was seen sitting in his vehicle, masturbating while watching women walk past on South Arlington Mill Drive last week, according to information the Arlington County Police Department released Thursday.

The man was parked in the 2600 block of South Arlington Mill, between Walter Reed Drive and the Animal Welfare League of Arlington, around 3 p.m. Friday when one of the female passersby noticed him engaged in the act.

The woman called police, but the man left before they arrived, police spokesman Dustin Sternbeck told Patch. She did not attempt to confront the man, he said.

Police are investigating the matter as an obscene sexual display. They are not sure how long the man was engaged in the act, Sternbeck said.

At this point, investigators do not believe this incident is related to any other recent sex crimes.
