A man in a wheelchair was arrested and charged with armed robbery Thursday night, according to the Arlington County Police Department.

Employees saw the theft on their surveillance camera, police spokesman Dustin Sternbeck said.

A store employee went outside and pushed the man back into the pharmacy to recover the items. At that point, Chase began brandishing a knife and fled, according to police.

"The employee backed up, and he went on his way," Sternbeck said. "With his close proximity to the police station, we were pretty much there in no time. We located the guy as he was trying to get on the elevator to the Court House Metro Station."

The knife and merchandise were recovered, according to police.

Chase is being held without bond.
