Police: Man Stabs Ex-Wife's Sleeping Boyfriend

Man still had access to woman's apartment, Arlington police say.

A 32-year-old Arlington man has been charged with malicious wounding after police say he stabbed his ex-wife's boyfriend.

David Argueta still had access to his ex-wife's apartment in the 2900 block of South Glebe Road when he entered it early Friday morning, according to information police released Monday.

At about 6:20 a.m. Friday, police say Argueta entered the apartment, went into the bedroom where his ex-wife and her boyfriend were asleep, and stabbed the other man in his left side.

The man woke when he was stabbed, and someone in the apartment — presumably the woman — drove him to an area hospital, police spokesman Dustin Sternbeck told Patch. The puncture wound in his left side was not life-threatening, Sternbeck said.

Police arrived at the hospital and spoke to the victim. They were able to contact Argueta over the phone and convinced him to turn himself in, Sternbeck said.
