Police Seek Help ID'ing Pepper-Spraying Makeup Thieves

Bandits struck at a CVS Pharmacy earlier this week.

The Arlington County Police Department is asking for the public's help in identifying and locating two women who stole cosmetics from a CVS Pharmacy and pepper-sprayed two employees in their getaway.

The bandits entered the CVS Pharmacy at 256 N. Glebe Road at about 3:30 a.m. Monday, according to information police released Friday.

Video surveillance shows one woman placing multiple cosmetic items in two handbags while the other woman served as lookout, according to a news release.

The woman with the handbag went to a self-checkout and pretended to pay for the items, but was confronted by an employee when she tried to leave the store. The employee was pepper-sprayed in the face for his trouble. A second employee tried to intervene and also got pepper sprayed, according to police.

The pair of women got away in an unknown vehicle.

One woman was described as being in her 20s, about 6 feet tall and 180 pounds. She was wearing green pants, a white T-shirt and tan flats at the time of the incident.

The other woman was described as thin and wearing a blue jean jacket and black yoga-style pants.
