Arlington police are investigating the armed robbery of a store on Columbia Pike that was reported over the weekend.

The store, which police have not identified, is in the 5000 block of Columbia Pike, between the Four Mile Run Drive and South Carlin Springs Road intersections.

Shortly before 5 p.m. Sunday, a man in a black ski mask entered the store, pulled a gun on an employee and demanded money, according to police. The employee gave the man an undisclosed amount of cash and was then punched in the face, according to the police.

The bandit then ran away.

Aside from the mask, police say he was wearing a black jacket, grey pants and green shoes.

Additional information was not immediately available Tuesday morning.
