Police: Theft Through Window and Laundry Change Stolen

Recent reports from the Arlington County Police Department.

A woman reported hearing someone grabbing items through an open window on the 800 block of S. Frederick Street late last week, according to police reports from the Arlington County Police Department. The suspect fled the scene -- it is not clear if he took anything, police reported. 

That incident occurred around 7 a.m. Friday (July 11). The suspect is described as a Hispanic male in his 30s with a medium build and approximately 5-feet-5-inches tall, police reported. 

Residents are reminded to ensure valuables are secured away from windows and doors.

In separate, recent incidents, a person (or more than one person) is stealing change from laundry machines in Arlington. 

A person took off the covers of a washing machine and dryer and stole the change from inside. This occurred on the 1500 block of N. Pierce Street sometime between midnight July 7 and 10:15 p.m. Friday (July 11), according to police.

A person damaged the lock box on a Washington machine in the 2700 block of S. 8th Street and stole money from it Monday morning (July 14), police reported.
