UPDATE: Police Arrest Driver In December Hit And Run

The ACPD has arrested 24-year-old John Christopher Reynolds of fairfax in the hit and run of a 22-year-old woman in December.

Arlington County Police have arrested and charged John Christopher Reynolds, 24, of Fairfax, in the on Dec. 30, 2010. ACPD spokeswoman, Detective Crystal Nosal responded to a commenter on Facebook who asked how the 22-year-old woman is by saying, "The Department can't release detailed medical information about victims, but she is recovering."

The ACPD issued this release about the arrest: 

"The Arlington County Police Department is investigating a hit and run accident that occurred on December 30, 2010, in the 4200 block of Fairfax Drive. At approximately 12:20 a.m., police responded for a pedestrian stuck by a vehicle.

Investigation revealed that a 22-year-old woman was crossing Fairfax Drive in a crosswalk when she was struck by dark colored sedan. The striking vehicle did not stop at the scene. The victim was transported to a local hospital in serious condition. 

Evidence left at the scene from the striking vehicle lead detectives to charge John Christopher Reynolds, 24, of Fairfax, with Felony Hit and Run. He is currently in custody at the Arlington County Detention Center.
