Woman Wakes to Find Man Touching Her Arm in Courthouse Community

Arlington police say this is not related to a similar incident earlier this month in Virginia Square.

An Arlington woman in the Courthouse community woke one morning this week to find a strange man rubbing her arm.

The man entered the residence in the 1400 block of North Taft Street shortly after 4 a.m. Monday, according to information the Arlington County Police Department released later in the week.

"She woke up and he took off," police spokesman Dustin Sternbeck told Patch. "She was trying to come to and realize what was going on."

The woman called police afterward. She was not physically injured, Sternbeck said.

Investigators aren't sure how the man got into the apartment, he said. Police canvassed the area and alerted patrol officers to the suspect's vague description — a man wearing a red polo shirt and blue jeans. He remains on the loose.

The woman was in bed alone at the time of the incident, Sternbeck said. He was not sure if anyone else was home at the time.

Earlier this month, a 24-year-old man was arrested after being accused of touching a Virginia Square woman while she slept.

Sternbeck said the two incidents were not related.
