Alexandria Chamber President to Lead Ballston Business Improvement District

Leone plans to take a job with the Ballston Business Improvement District in Arlington.

Alexandria Chamber of Commerce President and CEO Tina Leone will leave the chamber as of Nov. 30 to become the executive director of the Ballston Business Improvement District.

"Leone joined the Chamber in July 2009 and has been an enthusiastic supporter of Alexandria's business community," said a chamber statement. "In her time with the chamber, Leone worked closesly with the board to stabilize the chamber's finances and grow membership despite the challenges of a national recession."

In the interim, Catherine Roper, the vice president of operations of the chamber, will lead staff and work to ensure that chamber events and legislative initiatives remain on track.

Chamber Chairman and restaurateur Mike Anderson said: "I thank Tina for the countless hours that she dedicated to the advocacy of business interests in Alexandria. While Tina will be missed, we appreciate her desire to face new challenges and know that she will be very successful in her new venture."
