Arlington Secret Santa Program Accepting Gift Cards Through Tuesday

Cards should not exceed $25 in value.

Through Tuesday, Arlington County is collecting gift cards to distribute to those less fortunate during the holidays.

The county's Secret Santa program collects donated gift cards — up to $25 in value — to area grocery stores, pharmacies, discount stores and malls.

The Arlington County Department of Human Services then distributes the cards to children in foster care, people with disabilities and low-income families and seniors. The department delivers more than 1,000 cards to needy individuals each year, according to the county's website.

Gift cards can be mailed or hand-delivered to the Secret Santa Program, care of Kurt Larrick, Department of Human Services, 2100 Washington Blvd., Fourth Floor, Arlington VA 22204.

The county asks that contributions include the value if not already printed on the card, a return address and a beneficiary category designation, if desired.
