Arlington to Host 44th Annual Celebration of Legacy of Martin Luther King Jr.

Sunday event features volunteer opportunities and dance performance.

Arlington County will host its 44th annual tribute to the life and legacy of Martin Luther King Jr. this weekend.

The celebration of King's life will be from 7 to 9 p.m. Sunday at Washington-Lee High School, 1301. N. Stafford St.

A volunteer fair featuring area nonprofits will start things off at 6:30 p.m.

The event will feature a keynote address from Lehigh University Director of Africana Studies James Braxton Peterson, a performance by Grammy-nominated progressive hip-hop artist Christylez Bacon, a dance tribute by Urban Artistry and an exhibit on Arlington during the Civil Rights Era.
