Gallery: McAuliffe Looks for Support, High-Fives at Little Ambassadors' Academy

Candidate lays out platform for early childhood education at Arlington campaign stop.

Democratic gubernatorial hopeful Terry McAuliffe stopped by Little Ambassadors' Academy in ArlingtonĀ this week to learn about the preschool, discuss early childhood education with teachers and administrators, and read to a group of children.

McAuliffe collected high-fives from the youngsters, age 2 to 5, as he went along, and again after reading them "How Do Dinosaurs Go to School?"

He also pledged to increase this state's investment in early childhood education, paying for that with tax dollars he says will be freed if and when Virginia goes along with Medicaid expansion under the federal Affordable Care Act.
