Howell Among Democracy For America's Heroes

Virginia state senator, whose district includes part of Arlington, nominated by PAC for progressive ideas.

By Karen Goff

State Sen. Janet Howell, a Reston Democrat whose district includes part of Arlington County, is among the hero nominees for Democracy for America's Heroes and Villains Southern Edition.

Howell has been active in issues such as gun laws, abortion rights, equal rights and advocating for children and people with disabilities since taking office in 1992, according to Democracy for America.

Along with Arlington, Howell's legislative district includes Reston, Vienna and parts of Oakton, Tysons and McLean.

Also nominated — in the villain column — is Virginia Attorney General and gubernatorial candidate Ken Cuccinelli.
