Patch and Arlington Independent Media will host a forum for Arlington County Board candidates that will be broadcast live at 7 p.m. Thursday.
AIM will rebroadcast the forum multiple times before the November election. Patch also will feature the video on its Arlington County and Clarendon-Courthouse sites.
Next month, voters will determine who represents them from the federal to the local level. Arlington County Board member Libby Garvey, a Democrat, faces opposition from Republican Matt Wavro and Green Party candidate Audrey Clement.
Garvey won a special election earlier this year to fill the unexpired term of Barbara Favola, who ascended to the state Senate. That term expires at the end of this year.
Candidates will be allowed to bring up to two supporters to AIM's studio in Clarendon on Thursday. The event also will be open to AIM members and credentialed media. The taping will not be open to the general public due to space limitations.
The forum will air live on Comcast channel 69 and Verizon channel 38 in Arlington, as well as stream online at www.arlingtonmedia.org/live.
AIM will rebroadcast the forum:Wednesday, Oct. 17 11:30 a.m. – 12:30 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 18 7:30 p.m. – 8:30 p.m. Monday, Oct. 22 7:30 p.m. – 8:30 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 24 11:30 a.m. – 12:30 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 25 7:30 p.m. – 8:30 p.m. Monday, Oct. 29 7:30 p.m. – 8:30 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 31 11:30 a.m. – 12:30 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 1 7:30 p.m. – 8:30 p.m.

Questions will come from Patch editors. If you wish to submit a question for consideration, post it in the comments section below, email email@example.com or tweet @ArlCoVaPatch.
Candidates will not be informed of the questions in advance.
Each candidate will be given 90 seconds for an opening statement and 60 seconds for a closing statement. The first person to answer each question will rotate during the hour-long event. Candidates will have 60 seconds to answer each question. Any candidate named in a response will be given 30 seconds for a rebuttal.
