Patch welcomes Ken Cuccinelli, the Republican candidate for Virginia governor, as a new blogger.

Cuccinelli was sworn in as Virginia’s attorney general in 2010. Prior to holding that office, he was a small business owner and partner in the law firm of Cuccinelli & Day in Fairfax.

He also was a top conservative member of the Virginia Senate from 2002 until 2010.

Cuccinelli is in a tight race against the Democratic candidate for governor, Terry McAuliffe.

In his first blog post on Patch, Cuccinelli writes: “I am not pretending to suggest that I have an answer to all of America’s education woes, but there are certainly obvious and immediate steps we can and should take to turn things around.”
