It's a busy week to be a Democrat in Arlington.

Arlington County Board Member Jay Fisette and his partner, Bob Rosen, will host a reception for state Senate candidate Barbara Favola from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. today at their home on Jackson Street. The reception will feature U.S. Sen. Jim Webb. Suggested contributions range from $100 to $2,500.

Also today: The Arlington County Civic Federation will hold the second part of its candidate forums, which will focus on local candidates. Incumbents Walter Tejada and Mary Hynes will face Green Party candidate Audrey Clement for two open seats on the county board. Unopposed candidates also will speak, including those for sheriff, revenue commissioner and commonwealth's attorney. The event starts at Washington-Lee High School at 7:30 p.m.

Finally, the Democratic Party of Virginia is hosting a fundraising reception at the Clarendon Ballroom featuring Democratic National Committee Chairwoman Debbie Wasserman Schultz. The event is 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. Wednesday. Tickets are $50 (or $35 for Young Democrats), though sponsorships range from $1,000 to $10,000. This event is closed press, per a state party spokesman.
