Jackpot had climbed to a record $580 million; several people in Virginia won $1 million.

If you bought a Powerball ticket at the 7-Eleven at 5267 Lee Highway in Arlington, you may want to check your tickets. John Hagerty, spokesman for Virginia Lottery, said a $1 million ticket was sold there.

Hagerty said $1 million tickets were also sold in Richmond, Daleville and Harrisonburg.

The winning numbers for the Wednesday, Nov. 28 drawing were: 5  23  16  22  29 with Powerball number 6.

Between Oct. 3 and Nov. 28, Virginia raised $13.3 million in profit from the sale of lottery tickets, Hagerty said. By law, that money must go to K-12 education.

Winning tickets of the more than $500 million jackpot were sold in Missouri and Arizona.

In Virginia, a big winner taking a lump sum payment would have meant getting a check for $255,742,000, according to a Powerball Jackpot analysis by USAMega.com. Annuity payments would be $13,016,667, or $390,500,010 after 30 payments.
