Almost 100 runners from Arlington completed the Boston Marathon Monday, one year after explosions rocked the event, taking lives and injuring hundreds of runners and spectators.
In all, 94 Arlingtonians ran the 26.2 mile race, including top local finisher Michael R. Wardian, who finished in 2:23:32. He finished 44th overall in the marathon with a pace average of 5:29 per mile.

In 2013, 82 people from Arlington competed the Boston Marathon.
Arlington’s Frank Fumich also ran and finished in 3:36:02. Fumich ran with his Florida-based friend Matt Nelson from the Pentagon to the finish line of the Boston Marathon last year to raise money for Boston Marathon bombing victims.
