Wakefield Warriors: 2013 Football, Fall Sports Schedules

The Warriors' varsity football team kicks off its regular season Sept. 6 at home.

With school starting soon, high school athletes are gearing up for falls sports — football, of course, but also volleyball, field hockey, cross country and golf.

The Wakefield Warriors' varsity football team kicks off its regular season Sept. 6 at home against Marshall High School under Head Coach Wayne Hogwood. Former Coach Keith Powell stepped down after the Warriors finished last season 0-10, according to the Sun Gazette.

The Warriors will participate in a round-robin scrimmage 7 p.m. Friday involving Freedom and Heritage high schools in Loudoun County. A second scrimmage game is slated for 6 p.m. Aug. 22 in McLean.

Varsity football regular season games (all games start at 7:30 p.m.):

  • Sept. 6: Marshall High School (home)
  • Sept. 12: George Mason High School (home)
  • Sept. 20: Thomas Jefferson High School (away)
  • Sept. 27: Edison High School (home)
  • Oct. 4: Hayfield Secondary School (home)
  • Oct. 11: Falls Church High School (away)
  • Oct. 18: Yorktown High School (away)
  • Oct. 25: Stuart High School (away)
  • Nov. 1: Washington-Lee High School (home)
  • Nov. 8: Mount Vernon High School (away)
