Washington Capitals Player Joel Ward to Throw Out First Pitch on Jackie Robinson Day at Nats Game

The game is Thursday at Nationals Park. Ward wears jersey No. 42 for the Capitals in honor of Jackie Robinson's contribution to sports, society and Civil Rights Movement.

The Washington Capitals, in conjunction with the Washington Nationals, announced Wednesday that forward Joel Ward will throw out the ceremonial first pitch Thursday on Jackie Robinson Day at Nationals Park

Ward will throw out the ceremonial first pitch prior to the Nationals game against the St. Louis Cardinals, which is slated to begin at 7:05 p.m.

Ward wears jersey No. 42 for the Capitals in honor of Jackie Robinson’s contribution to sports, society and Civil Rights Movement.
