Arlington County Summer Camp Registration Enjoys Opening Rush

Nearly 3,000 children register Wednesday.

Arlington summer camp registration opened at 7 a.m. Wednesday — and the county saw more than 1,900 registrations within the first 10 minutes.

"This went so smoothly," said Jane Rudolph, Arlington County's new director of Parks and Recreation.

By the end of Wednesday, 3,007 children had signed up for a summer camp run by or through Arlington County. Another 171 were on waiting lists for various camps.

Popular camps like gymnastics and various summer sports filled quickly, Rudolph said.
