Independence Day: Your Guide to the Fourth of July in Arlington

Celebrating the freedom from worry. All you need to know if you're going out, staying in or visiting Arlington on the Fourth.

With apologies to federal employees and anyone else who may have to work Friday, nothing makes a holiday better than when you can turn it into a well-deserved long weekend.

Arlington is certainly the place to be on the Fourth of July, which is Thursday.

The Verve Pipe, the popular '90s band, will headline a day-long festival at Long Bridge Park in Crystal City. Arlington's own Red Top Cab is one of several Washington-area companies participating in the SoberRide program, which will offer free (up to a $30 value) cab rides home Thursday night. And you can always visit a fireworks stand if you want to put together your own celebration.

We'll keep this post updated with all of our Fourth of July news to help make your holiday even more relaxing.
