In a special promotion, DC Comics will be offering a free Superman comic at most comic book shops on Wednesday, June 12 — dubbed "Superman Day."

"All-Star Superman" No. 1 is a 2005 comic from the acclaimed creative team of Grant Morrison and Frank Quitely. Scenes from the comic were reportedly used in the new film. Free promotional bags and posters will also be available.

DC will also release a brand new series on June 12: "Superman Unchained" by the red-hot team of writer Scott Snyder and artist Jim Lee.

Freebies will also be available on Saturday, June 15, at more than 1,000 libraries, according to DC. Visitors will receive buttons, bookmarks and Superman comics.
