Raising Capital for Your Startup, Bob Gibson Big Band, Drink for a Cause and More

Raising Capital for Your Startup: Link Locale, a coworking space in Clarendon, is hosting a workshop called, "Raising Capital to Get Your Business to the Next Level." The workshop is 5:30 p.m. Tuesday, and it's followed by beer, wine and networking at 6:30 p.m. You don't need to attend the workshop to attend the networking session. More information and RSVP here

Bob Gibson Big Band: Experience vintage to modern big band jazz at 7:30 p.m. Thursday at the Metro 29 Diner, 4711 Lee Highway, Arlington. Hear selections from the likes of Count Basie, Duke Ellington, Glenn Miller and more. Free. More information here.

Drink for a Cause: Drink up and join the Arlington Food Assistance Center in taking action to fight hunger in the community. From 11 a.m. to 10 p.m. Tuesday at Dogfish Head Alehouse in Falls Church, 20 percent of proceeds will benefit the Arlington food pantry. The alehouse is located at 6363 Seven Corners Center. Sign the U.S. Constitution: A National Park Service ranger dressed in Colonial attire will discuss the U.S. Constitution and invites visitors to sign a copy with a quill pen. From 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. Tuesday at the Thomas Jefferson Memorial, 900 Ohio Drive SW, Washington. Free. 202-438-9667.

"The Island": Freedom Theatre presents the South African drama “The Island” at 7:30 p.m. Monday and Tuesday at Georgetown University’s Davis Performing Arts Center, 37th and O streets NW. The cost is $15, or $12 for seniors and $7 for students. 202-687-2787..
