Wine & Cheese Tasting at Screwtop: Screwtop Wine Bar & Cheese Shop will host a wine and cheese tasting from 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday to benefit the Arlington Food Assistance Center. Taste 10 wines and cheese. Registration is $29.99. Screwtop is at 1025 N. Fillmore St. in Arlington. More info here.

813 Ball: The Friends of the Library will host a Gatsby-themed fundraising ball at 8 p.m. Saturday at the Artisphere, 1101 Wilson Blvd. Enjoy food, drinks, music, dancing and a silent auction to raise money for the 1,000 Books Before Kindergarten program.
