Drop-In Hoops, Condo Living, Celtic Festival and More

How are you going to spend the weekend in and around Arlington?

Go Irish! Beckett’s Celtic Festival takes place from noon to 7 p.m. Saturday at the Village at Shirlington in Arlington, 4200 Campbell Ave. This inaugural event includes five live bands (The Danny Burns Band, The Aine O’Doherty Band, Shamrogues, Brendan’s Voyage and Off the Boat), food and drink, dancers and pipe bands and more. Shoot Some Hoops: Adult drop-in basketball is at Arlington’s Walter Reed Community Center from 10 a.m. to 1:15 p.m. Saturdays. Games are timed at 13 minutes or the first team to score 11 points. For more information, call 703-228-5923.

Condo Living: New to your condominium board or seeking to expand your knowledge of condo living? Join the class "The Essentials of Community Association Leadership” offered by the city of Alexandria and Arlington County. The class will be held at Fairlington Community Center, 3308 S. Maryland Wine Festival: Join 40 Maryland wineries at the 30th annual Maryland Wine Festival. The event is fro m 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Saturday and from noon to 6 p.m. Sunday, with admission fees ranging from $20 to $30. The event will be held at the Carroll County Farm Museum in Westminster, about 45 minutes from Washington. More information here.

Get in the Moment: Enjoy the premier of the musical performance ‘moment’ by Steve Antosca from 4 to 6 p.m. Saturday in Georgetown University's Walsh Building lobby. The performance runs 4 to 4:20 p.m. by the Georgetown University Orchestra accompanied by electronic musician William Brent. A panel discussion follows from 5 to 6 p.m. Open to the public. The Walsh Building is located at 1221 37th St. NW, Washington.
