This Weekend: Laugh, Dance, Knit and More

Five things in and around Arlington this weekend.

Laugh your troubles away. Comedian Michael Che — a Manhattan native and one of BuzzFeed's "50 Hottest Men in Comedy" — will perform two shows at the Arlington Cinema and Drafthouse, 2903 Columbia Pike. Doors are at 9:30 p.m., show starts at 10 on both Friday and Saturday nights. Tickets: $20.

If you love knitting and classic movies, Friday Knit at the Movies is for you. Participants can bring a project that they are working on while watching this week’s classic movie, Jurassic Park. The free event is from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. Friday at 1219 King St. in Alexandria.

Jane Franklin Dance and Percussionist Tom Teasley present "See" at 7 p.m. Saturday at the Theatre on the Run, 3700 S. Four Mile Run Drive in Arlington. Live percussion and dance performances against the backdrop of film and video. Tickets are $20. More info here.

Saturday is West Coast Swing Night at the Colvin Run Dance Hall in Great Falls. Dance to your favorite music featuring guest instructor Arjay Centeno. Centeno will teach an intermediate West Coast Swing lesson from 7 to 8 p.m., and the dance itself is 8 p.m. to 1 a.m. Cost: $15. More info here.

Let the Dude help you ease back into the work week. IOTA Club & Cafe will hold free screenings of "The Big Lebowski," projected onto two large bedsheets, at 7 and 9 p.m. Monday. IOTA is at 2832 Wilson Blvd., not far from the Clarendon Metro.
