Updated: Metro Seeks Public Input to Better Its 4-Line Bus Service

Transit authority to discuss Pershing Drive-Arlington Boulevard line evaluation.

Updated (Wednesday): Tonight's meeting on Nash Street has been postponed due to inclement weather, Metro announced. It will now take place on March 13. Original story (Monday): Metro will host two community meetings this week to gather public input on its 4-Line buses, which generally run from Rosslyn to the Seven Corners and Bailey's Crossroads portions of Fairfax County along Pershing Drive and Arlington Bouelvard. The meetings are part of ongoing studies to improve Metrobus service on some of the region’s most heavily used bus lines, according to a news release. Arlington Boulevard Detours for Courthouse Bridge Demolition Begin Saturday

VDOT: Construction will last through August.

Thousands of drivers who take Arlington Boulevard/Route 50 will begin facing detours this weekend thanks to the demolition and subsequent rebuilding of the Courthouse Road bridge. Westbound Arlington Boulevard  will close at 8 a.m. Saturday and reopen by 8 p.m. Sunday, according to the Virginia Department of Transportation. Westbound traffic will be directed to exit at 14th Street, eventually over to Wilson Boulevard, and then back to Route 50 via 10th Street. State, County Celebrate Renewed 'Gateway' Between North, South Arlington

Officials formally marked the completion of a $6 million bridge replacement project on Glebe Road over Arlington Boulevard on Wednesday.

Virginia Department of Transportation and Arlington County officials on Wednesday formally celebrated the completion of a $6 million bridge replacement on Glebe Road over Arlington Boulevard. The entire bridge, about 100 feet long, was replaced over a 15-month construction window. The new bridge is 27 feet wider, according to VDOT. The state agency worked with the county and community to implement improvements such as: "All of this is an enormous enhancement to the way this community works," Arlington County Board Chairwoman Mary Hynes said.
