These festive, tasty treats are sure to be loved by all. They are fantastic with coffee and also make excellent Holiday gifts!
It's time to wrap up week of cookies on the Holiday Saute. It's been a great week (OK, two weeks)! To recap, we've experimented with the following cookies: M&M Cookies, Pumpkin Cranberry Bars, Rum Balls, and Chocolate Mint Cookies (which seems to be the Ballston area favorite! It's an amazing cookie!). I decided to wrap this week of sweetness up with a biscotti recipe that I first made last Christmas. The red cranberries and green pistachios make this cookie especially festive-and come on, biscotti is a BREAKFAST cookie. A cookie for breakfast. Even Santa is down with that. Cranberry Pistachio Biscotti (another gem from www.allrecipes.com) Makes 3 dozen (I've never made that many out of this recipe, I cut them too thick!) Ingredients: 1/4 …

These are by far, the most amazing cookies I've ever made. If you could make only one cookie this holiday season-make it this one!
So...I know I shouldn't be surprised. And I know it shouldn't be a shock...but what was with this temperature drop this week?!?! One morning it's pouring rain and smells like spring, and then I leave my office that afternoon to seemingly freezing temperatures. I supposed it is December, which means it should be cold out...but come on! A little consistency would be nice. At least December does mean it's COOKIE SEASON :)! As we begin to wrap up cookie week on the Holiday Saute, I have to share some exciting news. We now have a new FAVORITE cookie. I didn't think it was possible, but it is. These Chocolate Mint Cookies that I found the other day on www.allrecipes.com blew us away! These are so delicious. If you make one type of cookie this …

These rum balls turned out REALLY WELL!!! Give them a shot, they'll be a big hit!
Happy Hanukkah, Ballston!!! And Happy Cookie Week!!! This has been a great time in our apartment: nothing is better than having your place consistently smell like cookies!! It hasn't been the best week on our waistlines, but still: can't complain too much. I finally came up with a rum ball recipe that I like. FINALLY. I love rum. I love cookies. I love rum cake. But I've never liked rum balls. They always seemed to be too potent, too messy, or not enough chocolate for me. However, I think I've come up with a great, slightly unique recipe that you will fall in love with. Dieters beware: This is not a cookie for calorie counters. If you're looking for something you won't want to punish yourself for later, try the Pumpkin Cranberry Bars from…

These chewy, delicious cookies taste great! And with candy mixed in, they are sure to be a big hit!
Hope you had a wonderful Thanksgiving, Ballston! We are now entering COOKIE WEEK in the Holiday Saute! I want to feature some of my favorite cookie recipes, and now seems to be the perfect time to do it. Expect a few of my favorites over the next week (or week and a half). These M&M Cookies were actually picked out by my husband a couple months ago, and we've made them a couple times since then. They taste great, and the chocolate M&Ms really make the cookie fantastic. Try dark M&Ms for a nice treat (I LOVE dark chocolate) or buy holiday colored M&Ms to make these cookies a little more festive! M&M Cookies (found on www.allrecipes.com) Servings-About 4 dozen Ingredients: 1 cup packed brown sugar 1/2 cup white sugar 1 cup shortening 2 …
