A new eight-story, energy-efficient office building that will include a childcare facility and publicly accessible conference room is coming to 2311 Wilson Blvd., about a block from the Courthouse Metro Station. Woman was walking home alone early Sunday from Courthouse Metro station.
An Arlington woman who was walking home in the early morning hours Sunday from the Courthouse Metro station was able to defend herself against an attempted sexual assault. The woman was walking home alone at 2:34 a.m. Sunday when an unknown man grabbed her from behind and forced her to the ground, according to information police have since released. The attack happened in the 2400 block of North Custis Road, about a quarter mile from the Metro station. The attacker put one hand over the woman's mouth and attempted to remove her shorts with his other hand, police spokesman Dustin Sternbeck said. The woman bit the man's hand, causing him to recoil and allowing the woman to scream for help, Sternbeck said. This scared the attacker, who ran …

Free shuttle buses will replace train service on the Metro’s Orange Line starting at 10 p.m. Friday between Rosslyn and Virginia Square stations. The stations are closing to replace track switches near Clarendon station on the recommendation of the National Transportation Safety Board (NTSB). Here is some more information about travel on the Orange Line over the weekend: The last train from Vienna will depart 20 minutes earlier than normal -- at 2:07 a.m. on Friday and Saturday nights, and at 11:07 p.m. on Sunday and Monday nights. Last train times from New Carrollton will not change.

Man arrested at nearby Courthouse Metro.
The Arlington County Police Department has charged Antwan Raynor, 26, of Capitol Heights, Md., with one count of armed robbery. Raynor is accused of robbing the City Market & Deli, 2250 Clarendon Blvd., at knifepoint shortly after 9 p.m. Friday, according to information police released this week. Raynor allegedly entered the Courthouse Plaza convenience store wearing a grey ski mask, pulled a knife on the clerk and demanded cash from the register, according to police. He then grabbed $222 and ran from the scene. Officers say they caught the man shortly afterward at the nearby Metro stop. He is being held without bail.
