W-O-W. This recipe will knock the socks off of all your family and friends. It's really really good! Give it a shot!

HAPPY EARLY THANKSGIVING, BALLSTON!!! Such a great Holiday! A time to spend reflecting about blessings in your life...and eating. Lots of eating. We're going to shake it up a little bit this weekend, Ballston. Instead of doing the main dish this week-we're fast forwarding straight to dessert. I think this is important because a good pecan pie can be the perfect way to finish your Thanksgiving feast-and if I don't post it till next Saturday-it'll be too late! Therefore, lets break with Saturday Saute tradition and do what our parents always forbid us to do: have dessert before our meal! I turned my back on my standard frozen, ready-made pie crust and ventured into uncharted pastry territories in my kitchen. Wish I would have done it sooner!

As Thanksgiving quickly approaches, we need to figure out what we're going to make to wow the family this year. Or bring to that potluck. I'm telling you, being trusted with bringing the dessert-the grand finale, is a daunting task. But I've got your back, Ballston. You'll actually want to be assigned to the pie. And this year, you won't have to pretend that your pie is homemade when really, you grabbed it from the store. We're going to make pie completely from scratch. Yes, scratch. It's a little messy, but it's so good.  And that means, we gotta try to make the crust. For the first time, I made homemade pie crust. And let me tell you-it is WORTH the extra effort.
