Crystal Park Sport&Health Reopens With New Look

Renovation of health club, built in 1987, features new walls, floors, equipment and other amenities.

Crystal Park Sport&Health recently reopened following a multi-million dollar renovation of its club at 2231 Crystal Drive, the company has announced. Alexandria-based Vibe Design worked with the fitness club to replace old walls with glass to allow more natural lighting and to install earth-toned tile floors. The club, originally built in 1987, features more than 50 pieces of new cardio equipment outfitted with personal viewing screens. Through renovations, the facility now also features a cardio theater with a high-definition movie screen, surround sound and eight pieces of cardio equipment, according to a news release. Bishop O'Connell Celebrates Renovated McMurtrie Field

Knights win season opener against Alexandria's Bishop Ireton, 27-12.

The following article was submitted by Bishop O'Connell High School: The ribbon was cut Friday on the newly renovated Monsignor James W. McMurtrie Field at Bishop O’Connell High School in Arlington. The pre-game ceremony included words of gratitude from the school’s president, Kathleen Prebble, alumnus and former chairman of the board of governors, Kevin Fay, and fellow alumnus and architect Doug Gehley. The school’s chaplain, Phillip Cozzi, who is also an alumnus, led those assembled in prayer, and blessed the crowd, the players and the field. This ceremony preceded the O’Connell varsity football team’s home opener against Alexandria's Bishop Ireton, which the Knights won 27-12. The field renovation project, which began last September, …
