Two episodes of 'Star Trek: The Next Generation' will play July 23 on the big screen at the Regal Ballston Commons 12 and other local movie theaters.
A rare event will draw Trekkies to local movie theaters in July when two original episodes of "Star Trek: The Next Generation" hit the big screen. To mark the 25th anniversary of the show, Fathom Events is showing Episode 106, “Where No One Has Gone Before,” and Episode 114, “Datalore,” in movie theaters, WTOP reported. In “Where No One Has Gone Before,” the Enterprise is set up to go through high-speed tests. In “Datalore,” the Enterprise visits the planet where Data came from and finds an android very similar to Data, according to IMDb. Shakespeare and Star Trek fans came together for a night of fun and entertainment.
Hilarity ensued on Saturday night at the Spectrum Theatre in Rosslyn, as the Washington Shakespeare Company (WSC) opened its 21st season with the staging of By Any Other Name: An Evening of Shakespeare in Klingon. Shakespeare and Star Trek enthusiasts seemed to be equally represented judging by the applause from the diverse audience when asked, "Who loves Shakespeare? Who loves Star Trek?" Joe Palka, master of ceremonies for the evening's program described the company as the "edgiest" and quipped, "At any moment we just might take our clothes off!" The reference to nudity in past performances was echoed by artistic director, Christopher Henley who joked, "This is the most attention we've ever gotten with our clothes on," about the interest…
