Biggest Ever Wags n' Whiskers Set for Aug. 24 in Shirlington

Shirlington businesses will have day-of specials and samples, organizers say.

Call it a street fair for dogs (and cats).

The 6th annual Wags n' Whiskers will be from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 24. Organizers are billing it as the "largest to date," with more than 50 vendors expected to set up shop in the village — from pet services to on-site adoptions.

"A lot of the local businesses that are at the Village at Shirlington will be offering some day-of specials and samplings… just because of the size of the crowd it usually draws," a spokeswoman told Patch.
