What are they Building on North Irving Street?

Luxury apartment buildings, retail space and a new road are going up southwest of the Clarendon Metro station.

Two new apartment buildings with retail space on the ground floor are going up at 1128 and 1200 N. Irving Street in Arlington.

The Beacon at Clarendon West will be a 187-unit luxury apartment complex that is projected to be completed in the early summer of 2014, according to Donohoe Construction. 

One building will be six stories, the other will be ten stories, and both will have underground parking, accoring to Arlington County Permits. A new public street will run between the new buildings.

The apartment buildings are on North Irving Street northwest of Wilson Boulevard. NoVa Kindercare and the Red Top Cab communications headquarters are nearby. The Clarendon Metro station is about two blocks northeast of the construction site.
