Arlington Man Assaulted at Bus Stop in Ballston

Bystander helped hold suspect down, according to Arlington County Police Department.

A 44-year-old Arlington man is accused of trying to strangle another man at a bus stop in Ballston.

James Martin Tyler allegedly attacked a man Friday evening after seeing that man sitting next to a woman Tyler had been romantically involved with in the past, according to information now available from police. The bus stop is near the intersection of North Glebe Road and North Henderson Road.

"She was just sitting next to this other guy," police spokesman Dustin Sternbeck said. "It's not like he walked in on her being involved with some other male."
