Some styles of Nike Foamposite shoes are selling for between $1,700 and $2,500 on eBay.

Police did not indicate which style of the shoes the Arlington teen was wearing.

The boy called police after he was robbed, Sternbeck said. He said stories of similar robberies sometime surface nationally, but he wasn't aware of a similar incident happening in Arlington.

The robber was described as about 20 years old with a light beard, about 5-foot-10 and weighing about 160 pounds. At the time of the incident, he was wearing a black jacket and dark pants.

The man accompanying the robber was not involved in the incident, Sternbeck said.

Still, police listed him as a suspect in the ongoing investigation. He was described as 6-foot-2 with a heavy build and wearing a black jacket and dark jeans.

The second man was carrying a black backpack with him, according to police.
