Washington-Lee to Award Posthumous Diploma to Malvar

John Malvar, 18, died Tuesday following a skateboard crash. He was set to graduate this month and had a perfect attendance record.

The Arlington teenager who died Tuesday following a skateboard crash will be awarded his high school diploma posthumously.

John Malvar, 18, was a senior at Washington-Lee High School and the Arlington Career Center.

His name will be read during Washington-Lee's graduation ceremony on June 20. Malvar's father will accept the diploma, according to Arlington Public Schools spokesman Frank Bellavia.
