Traffic: 2014 Air Force Cycling Classic - Clarendon

Plan ahead for your commute this weekend if you plan to attend the 2014 Air Force Cycling Classic bicycle race.

In preparation for the 2014 Air Force Cycling Classic bicycle race, the Arlington County Police Department plans to close several streets in Clarendon on Saturday, June 7, 2014, according to a press release.  Here are the streets that will be affected:

From 4:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.:

  • Wilson Boulevard will be closed from N. Fillmore Street to Washington Boulevard

  • Clarendon Boulevard will be closed from Washington Boulevard to N. Fillmore Street

  • Washington Boulevard will be closed from Wilson Boulevard to N. Highland Street

  • North Highland Street will be closed from Wilson Boulevard to Washington Boulevard

  • North Garfield Street / N. Fillmore Street will be closed from Wilson Boulevard to Washington Boulevard

  • Police encourage those who wish to attend the race to use Metro, as street parking in the area will be restricted with temporary “No Parking” signs. The Clarendon station on the Orange Line is located in the middle of the race course at the corner of Highland Street and Wilson Blvd.

    Illegally parked vehicles may be ticketed or towed. If your vehicle is towed from a public street, please call 703-228-4252.
