Unknown Man Touches Middle School Female Inappropriately While Walking Home

Dr. Raymond Pasi, Yorktown Principal, alerted parents of the incident via e-mail.

Yorktown Principal Raymond Pasi sent this e-mail to Yorktown parents at 12:27 p.m. today about a female middle school student being touched inappropriately on while walking home from school yesterday afternoon on John Marshall. Read the entire letter below:

"Dear Parents:

Yesterday afternoon after school, a female middle school student was walking home along John Marshall near N. 26th Street about a block from Lee Highway.  An unknown male walking ahead of the student turned abruptly and touched her inappropriately. The suspect was described as a white male in his late 20s, 5' 7" and of average build.  He had dark hair and was wearing a white t-shirt, gray mesh shorts, a white baseball cap and black sneakers.

The student immediately reported the incident to her parents, and the police were called.  The Arlington County Police Department is currently investigating the report.

Now that the end of the school year is near, and summer is approaching, we hope that all parents will remind their students about the importance of following safety precautions when they are out in the community.

Students should walk in pairs or groups as often as possible and always should immediately report any incidents to a teacher, administrator, parent or other adult they trust when something like this occurs so that appropriate actions can be taken.

If you have questions, do not hesitate to call me.

Sincerely,

Dr. Raymond Pasi
Principal"
