Arlington Honors Valor Award Recipients

The Arlington Chamber of Commerce presented the 29th Annual Valor Awards at the Fort Myer Officers' Club.

The 29th Annual Valor Awards Ceremony, hosted by the Arlington Chamber of Commerce, honored members of the Arlington County's Police, Fire, and Sheriff Departments who have exemplified extraordinary heroic actions and exceptional performance in their duties this afternoon at the Fort Myer Officers' Club. 

Keynote speaker Katherine Amenta from TBD/NEWSCHANNEL 8, presented awards to 12 worthy recipients. 

-From the Arlington County Office of Emergency Management, ECT I Heather Horan received the Meritorious Service Award.

-From the Arlington County Police Department, Lieutenant Darrell Abate received the Meritorious Service Award. While Officer Brent Olson and Officer Ryan Reese received the Lifesaving Award. 

-From the Arlington County Fire Department, Firefighter Jaleel Davis received the Meritorious Service Award. Honored with the Lifesaving Award, was Fire/EMS Captain Christopher Cox, Firefighter/Paramedic Jason Hart, Firefighter/Paramedic Mark Jaquays, Firefighter/EMT III Sean Spencer and Deputy Fire Marshall Shawn Pendo.

-From the Arlington County Office of the Sheriff, Deputy Vincent Downes received the Meritorious Service Award. While Deputy Therick Myers received the Lifesaving Valor Award. 

In addition to the prestigious awards, the honorees received gift certificates to Ruth's Chris Steak House.
